London Shop: Brooks Brothers

At a recent in-store event at Brooks Brothers’ swanky Regent Street store London’s fashion bloggers were introduced to something a little bit special…

The holy grail of shirts. The perfect white shirt. The shirt to end all shirts. Here is the shirt!

It was unveiled with plentiful pomp and ceremony by fashion blogging superstar Sasha of Liberty London Girl. Sasha’s a big fan of this historic brand. It was the first ever American ready-to-wear fashion emporium, and over the years it’s become an institution, shaping the way Americans dress. Sasha told us it was the perfect place for essentials such as the white shirt, navy cardigan and beige bermuda, and once I got my hands on one of their non-iron shirts I quickly saw why.

The latest and greatest offering from this premium brand, the ‘great white shirt’ is made from 100% cotton and it resists wrinkles too! It’s available in sizes 6-18 and can even be cut according to your specific wishes – classic, fitted or tailored.

The famous faces are loving this one, supermodel Alex Wek and actress Diane Keaton have already snapped theirs up. And did I mention you don’t have to iron it… EVER?

Brooks Brothers can count anyone and everyone amongst their clientele. They’ve dressed 39 of the 44 American presidents. They dressed Barack Obama during his inauguration speech in 2009. They even provided Jennifer Aniston’s tie in that famous 2008 GQ cover. See, this is a shirt you can go out and change the world in. Or just go to work. Up to you.

Time For a Shopping Spree? Head to Liberty, Regent Street

It’s the middle of January – the driest, skintest and coldest of times. Obviously my natural response to this terrible wrong that has been done us was to take a trip up to Regent Street for a day of browsing objects I cannot afford alongside objects I could never afford… and where’s the best place to do that? Liberty, of course.

It’s Official – The 90s are BACK. Here’s how we know…

I was a child in the 90s. I had bright pink Pocohontas leggings and a hula hoop and SCENTED pens and a Furby called Coco who didn’t stop squawking about needing food or something for the entire decade.  It was a wonderful time to be alive.
